Teams, rituals, and superstitions

Posted: Updated:

When it comes to players and fans, there are some rituals and superstitions we can't just let go. If we do, we feel our team will lose.

There's no logic to it, it's just the way things fall.

Some players won't shave for fear of ending a great winning streak. Others wear their lucky undergarments. Players will sport a "rally cap" to gain a come-from-behind victory.

"I am extremely superstitious," said Atlanta Falcons fullback Michael Cox. He says he will eat ice cream, listen to music, read a special bible verse and get out to the game early so he can get focused for the game.

Falcons safety Thomas Decoud has his own ritual. He says he has two playlists. Before every game, he ramps it up with his first playlist and then slows it down with his second playlist when the game gets underway.

OUR GOOD DAY HOT TOPIC QUESTION:  Do you have any superstitions when it comes to your favorite team? Post your comments on our FOX 5 Atlanta Facebook page, or tweet us @GoodDayAtlanta.  We'll read some of your comments on the air during the 9 a.m. hour of Good Day Atlanta.
