A mobile meth lab was discovered in Brevard County. The mobile chemical filled unit was found on Santo Domingo off of Jupiter Blvd. in Palm Bay at 6:53 a.m. Saturday morning.
Officers found the vehicle because someone reported that the car was driving erratically in the area of Minton Rd from Malabar Rd. Officers with the Palm Bay Police Department pulled the car over at Santo Domingo Avenue and to officers the driver appeared to be under the influence.
After further investigation the driver was arrested driving under the influence (DUI). As officers searched the vehicle a little more they found a cooler in the back seat.
That's when they found what appeared to be evidence of a mobile meth lab in a 2004 Saturn. Due to the high-hazard potential of the contents, officers immediately secured the vehicle and cordoned off a safe zone until the meth disposal team can remove the hazard.
Santo Domingo Drive is blocked between San Luis and Tucker. That's a three block radius.
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office Meth Disposal Team is responded to remove the hazard. However, residents in the area did not have to be evacuated.
The driver of the vehicle is not being identified due to an ongoing investigation. The man arrested is a 27-year-old white male, but his name isn't being released at this time.
