Deputies are searching for a suspect this morning after a woman in her 20s was dragged into woods and sexually battered Sunday night near Valencia College, they say.
Just after 10 p.m., the victim was walking on a sidewalk on Valencia College Lane when a man wearing a hoodie grabbed the woman, dragged her into woods and attacked her, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.
Other nearby pedestrians heard the victim's screams, and their presence scared away the attacker, who was seen running from the scene.
"I was shocked," said Wilnelia Sanchez, who lives near where the attack occurred. "I don't go out here at night, but it's mostly quiet.," she said.
The suspect, described as an Hispanic man in his 20s, fled on foot in the direction of Valencia College Lane, deputies say.
Detectives are still gathering evidence and released a composite sketch of the suspect early Monday evening. Anyone with information on this incident is urged to the Sheriff's Office or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
