Stolen Torah recovered

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A Torah that had been stolen has been recovered.

The $30,000 scroll was in a Toyota Camry that had been stolen near a synagogue in the Kensington neighborhood in Brooklyn.

The NYPD says it was stolen on Saturday night.

The robber took off in a gray 2007 Toyota Camry near 18th Avenue.  The car and the Torah were recovered on Monday afternoon.

The suspect is still on the loose.
