OCALA, Fla. (WOGX FOX 51) -
Firefighters with Ocala Fire Rescue extinguished a small fire Monday morning at Waffle House restaurant. The restaurant is located at 3871 Southwest College Road.
A fire began on the grill in the kitchen, and according to the store manager, they called 911 and she safely evacuated the five customers and six employees from the restaurant. According to Captain Ed Raulerson, Ocala Fire Rescue responded at 10:55 a.m. and arrived within four minutes. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and damage was kept to a minimum.
Health department officials will make the final determination as to when the store can re-open after cleanup operations are completed.
There were no injuries.
