2 Firefighters Among 5 Hurt During Montco House Fire

EAST NORRITON, Pa. -

Five people, including two firefighters, were hurt during a house fire in Montgomery County early Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out at 1:30 a.m. on the 3000 block of Whitehall Road in East Norriton, but it is now under control.

Officials say three of the home's seven residents were taken to the hospital after they jumped from the house. Their conditions were not immediately released.

They also say two firefighters from the volunteer fire department have minor injuries after falling because of water icing up on the scene. Both went to the hospital.

Whitehall Road may remain closed for most of the day. Fire crews battled extreme cold during the blaze, and water used to douse the blaze is forming a sheet of ice at the scene.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley is out at the scene and filed this live video report Wednesday morning as he spoke to a fire official to get the latest details.
