Some southwest Atlanta homeowners say they are working to reduce crime in their communities. Councilwoman Joyce Sheperd and Atlanta Police Chief George Turner hosted a public meeting on Wednesday.
They spent some time discussing ways to curb the rash of recent crimes in the Capitol View and Sylvan Hills neighborhoods.
People got a chance to address specific crime with Chief Turner and make suggestions to keep criminals out of their areas.
Police are also encouraging people to take precautions like locking their windows and doors, and to take valuables out of their cars.
