ORANGE CITY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
With the drop in temperatures, manatees should be easy to spot this
weekend during the annual Manatee Festival at Blue Spring State Park in
Orange City.
"The cool weather brought in all these manatees," said organizer Jeff Allebach. "There will be tons of fun, plenty of music, plenty of food and craft booths. And of course the star of the show."
Mayor Tom Laputka expects 8,000-10,000 people to attend the event this year at Valentine Park at Blue Spring State Park.
The Central Florida Zoo will showcase its animals, and 15-year-old local country singer Karegan is scheduled to perform.
The Manatee Festival is from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 26-27. Tickets are $8 for adults, $2 for children.
