DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Police are searching for the man who stole thousands of dollars from a Krispy Kreme bookkeeper as she was going to deposit money.  An employee reported the robbery right away.

Dispatcher: 911 What is your emergency?
Caller: I work at Krispy Kreme and our book keeper she was trying to make a deposit and someone stole money out of her hand.

You can hear what sounds like the book keeper screaming in the background.

Dispatcher: Someone just stole the money our of her hand?
Caller: Yes and they took off running down the road.

The caller then says, a man with a white hockey mask robbed the book keeper as she got into her car.

Caller: Lunged over her, grabbed the money and took off running down the road.

According to the police report, the thief took off with thousands in cash and even more in checks. You can hear the victim saying, "Oh my God it's so much money!"

"Shocked, like what's going on,"  said Jurden Rodgers who happened to be across the way when he saw the suspect. He's using his girlfriend's backpack to show us what happened, "He pretty much looked across the street and was running like this tucking the mask in.
Dark guy. He had on black shorts and white sneakers."

Jurden thinks the man was headed towards a red Jeep Cherokee. According to investigators, the book keeper was not injured, "It's a terrible situation. I'm just glad she didn't get hurt because that's the most important thing."

We tried contacting Krispy Kreme, but no one got back to us.
