Members of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) are volunteering their tax preparation expertise to help low-income individuals and families in Detroit.
The Accounting Aid Society's 2013 "Tax Assistance Program" is happening at Focus: HOPE on Saturday, January 26, Saturday, February 2 and Saturday, February 9.
Eligibility for the free tax assistance is an annual income of $35,000 or less for an individual or less than $50,000 for a family. Volunteers will file local, state and federal taxes starting at 9:00 a.m. each Saturday.
Focus: HOPE is located at 1300 Oakman in Detroit.
