
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Police say a Tucson officer fatally shot an armed man who was the subject of a chase following a suspected armed robbery a midtown convenience store.
Tucson police says that 23-year-old Willie Davis, Jr. died early Friday after being shot by Sgt. Anthony Kadous. Authorities say a preliminary investigation showed that David pointed a gun at Kadous.
Sgt. Maria Hawke says the shooting occurred after Davis crashed his car in an alley and then got out of vehicle.
A patrol officer began the chase after seeing a vehicle matching the description of 1 reportedly used in the robbery.
Police says Davis has been linked to a series of armed robberies.
The shooting is under investigation.
