Police Identify Person Of Interest In Child Abduction Case

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia police say they have a person of interest in the case where a 5-year-old was abducted from her classroom earlier this month.

FOX 29's Dave Schratwieser reports police are searching for a 14- to 17-year-old female named "China."

Police say the 5-year-old victim led police over the weekend to the area of the 6200 block of Larchwood Avenue.

The child was taken from her Bryant Elementary School classroom in West Philly earlier this month. She was discovered safe the morning after hiding underneath a slide at an Upper Darby park.

Last week, police gave the mother of the girl a polygraph test, which she passed. But sources also tell FOX 29 News that police gave the father of the girl a polygraph test and he did not pass. It's not clear how the results of the tests impacted the investigation.

Police continue to search for two people they believe to be involved.
