VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating a motorcycle crash early Monday morning that claimed the life of a 26-year-old Edgewater man. The crash occurred at about 12:38 a.m. on Indian Harbor Avenue in Oak Hill.
The victim, Michael Francis, died at the scene after his motorcycle collided with a second bike being operated by his father. Both father and son were riding southbound on Indian Harbor Avenue, with Michael Francis riding in back.
Neither rider was wearing a helmet. The victim struck his father's motorcycle from behind, causing both riders to lose control and crash. The father wasn't injured.
The Sheriff's Office is investigating to determine the cause of crash.
