1 dead, 2 wounded in Greater Grand Crossing shooting

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
One man is dead and two others were critically wounded in a Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood shooting Tuesday afternoon on the South Side, authorities said.
Three people were shot at 12:12 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Champlain Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.
One person was dead on the scene and two others were taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to the fire department.
All three were shot on Champlain, but one fled to a store at East 74th Street and South Langley Avenue, a source said.
All three of the wounded are males, believed to be teens or adults, but their exact ages were not immediately available, authorities said.
Police took at least one person in custody and recovered a weapon, a source said.
