NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

Police in Bergen County are investigating the murders of Tammy Pitts, 40, and her daughter, Natsia Gaddy, 3, who were found dead in their Englewood, N.J., home.

They were probably killed on Monday, according to the Bergen County prosecutor.

Members checking on their welfare found them before noon Tuesday, officials said.

Pitts was stabbed multiple times and Natsia was suffocated, officials said. A plastic bag was found near the child's body.

Investigators believe Pitts knew the killer. They are questioning several suspects now and expect to have an arrest soon.

Neighbors and those who knew her say they are stunned at this violence.
