NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Trains are rolling again on NJ Transit's Montclair-Boonton line after a commuter train headed to Hoboken struck a tractor-trailer carrying paint Wednesday at a railroad crossing in Little Falls.

NJ Transit says crews finished making repairs in Little Falls early Thursday.

Ten people were injured including a NJ Transit employee and a school crossing guard who were seriously hurt.

The crossing guard remained hospitalized Thursday. Others who were injured were released, reported the Associated Press.

The truck was struck by the train as it reversed onto the tracks after failing to make a sharp left turn, said NJ Transit officials.

The impact caused the truck to turn onto its side, spilling dozens of containers of paint.

Police said that the driver of the truck, Jaswinder Singh, 23, of Carteret, suffered a minor shoulder injury.

Police later charged Singh with a railroad crossing violation and careless driving, an NJ Transit spokeswoman said.

The train, on the Montclair-Boonton line, was carrying 71 passengers and crew at the time of the collision.

Service on the #1006 train that left Little Falls at 8:11 a.m. was canceled and service on the #1074 that left at 9:31 a.m. from the Rt. 23 station was also also canceled.

NJ Transit buses were shuttling passengers between Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center and Montclair State University, according to NJ Transit.
