What's Causing Cat Deaths In Westwood?

Posted: Updated:

Westwood -- There are signs posted using the word "mutilated" to describe dead cats in the area off the 1600 block of Selby Avenue in Westwood.

The attacks appeared to be staged by a human, though neither Los Angeles Animal Control or the SPCA have such reports.

Residents say they've seen coyotes in the area. SPCA officials add that an attack where a coyote is spooked can look "staged."

Either way, they'd like calls if anyone has information.
