NEW ORLEANS -

Beyonce proved she can belt out a powerful Star Spangled Banner. The singing star began her appearance at a Super Bowl news conference with an acapella version of the National Anthem.

The first question was about her lip-syncing at the Inauguration. Calling herself a perfectionist, she said she did "sing along" with a pre-recorded version of herself singing the anthem. Beyonce she didn't have time to practice with the orchestra.

"Due to the weather, the delay and not being able to do a proper sound check" she did not feel comfortable taking a risk at such a big moment. And she wanted to make her President and country proud.

"I am very proud of my performance," she said.

Beyonce faced the media Thursday at a preview of her halftime performance at the Super Bowl. And she assured the crowd, she would be singing live on Sunday

It was the first time the superstar spoke publicly about her rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at President Barack Obama's inauguration last week.
