Relationship expert and Bravo reality TV star, Amy Laurent knows the three big reasons why single women aren't seeing engagement rings.
Women who pressure their men to propose with non-stop talk about babies and wedding colors are sure to push them away and make them more hesitant to propose, Laurent said.
Laurent cautions women from moving in with their boyfriends too soon. She recommends moving in together after becoming engaged, saying that there is no real reason to do so beforehand. Women in their 30s especially should wait to move in because they do not have time to sit around and wait if what they really want is to get married.
"Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free, right?" Laurent said Friday morning on "Good Day."
Women should also watch their maintenance-levels, Laurent warned, because men are looking to marry true partners.
"Marriage is a partnership and that's give-and-take," she said, "not take, take, take."
Laurent outlines even more relationship advice in her new book, "8 Weeks to Everlasting: A Step-By-Step Guide to Getting (and Keeping!) the Guy You Want."
She will be signing copies of the book Friday night at the Philadelphia Ritz-Carlton. She will also appear at the Mile of Meet event next week in Manayunk.
