One man was killed and four people were injured Sunday morning when three vehicles crashed on the Tri-State Tollway (I-94).
The crash happened about 6:45 a.m. and involved three vehicles -- a tow truck, a van and 4-door car, according to an Illinois State Police Tollway District master sergeant.
The accident occurred on I-94 eastbound at mile-marker 24.75, near Lake-Cook Road, the master sergeant said.
She could not disclose any details on the crash since the investigation was active as of about 10:45 a.m.
One man suffered fatal injuries from the crash, according to the master sergeant. She could not provide any additional information about him since next of kin had not yet been notified. Four people with non life-threatening injuries were taken from the crash to an area hospital, the master sergeant said.
