
Jason LyA man was arrested for of trying to extort money from a valley nail salon.
Police say Jason Ly is accused of trying to force the owners of Ken's Nails to write him checks.
Authorities say the owners paid him $10,000 for some salon chairs, but he forged the check and claimed the $10,000 had never been paid.
According to police, Ly threatened to kill the salon owners and destroy their business. They also believe he was part of a ring that extorts money from Vietnamese-owned businesses in the Phoenix-metro area.
