DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Daytona Beach police and members of their SWAT team spent two hours on Monday surrounding a home on Grandview and Harvey avenues.
Someone called 911 and said there was a woman dead inside an apartment. Police attempted to make contact with the people who live in the 8-unit complex. Eventually, they realized, no one was hurt inside the home and that the call was a hoax.
Officers will actively search for the person who placed the call which cost the department thousands of dollars, Police Chief Mike Chitwood said.
