ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Six people were taken to three hospitals this morning after a tow truck rear-ended a stopped Lynx bus in Orlando, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened at U.S. 441 and Washington Street at about 8:15 a.m. Troopers say a Lynx bus driven by Victor Viera, 54, of Orlando was stopped at a bus stop on U.S. 441 when it was struck from behind by a 2004 Ford tow truck driven by Wilfredo Flores, 43, of Orlando.
A passenger was attempting to board the bus when it was struck. That passenger and five others were taken to hospitals for treatment. Officials say none of the victims' injuries are life-threatening.
Flores was ticketed for careless driving.
