NEW CASTLE, Del. -
Police say a trio of thieves cut air conditioning units right from their electric supply and removed them from their bases on two separate occasions in Delaware.
The incidents happened on January 31 at the Buchi Corporation on Lukens Drive in New Castle and early in the morning on Saturday, February 2 from the Hope Evangelistic Lutheran Church.
According to police, it was on the second incident that troopers were able to respond to the theft after a witness called 911. Police say the witness said that the suspects were stealing the units from the church and then loading them up into a white Jeep liberty.
Troopers located the vehicle traveling eastbound on St. Rt. 273. After pulling the vehicle over, Delaware State Police say the Jeep drove off just as troopers exited their patrol car.
After a pursuit into Wilmington, police say the car crashed into a utility pole.
Troopers say all three who were inside the vehicle ran out, they were able to take the driver and a passenger into custody. Upon further investigation, troopers say they managed to link the two suspects to the thefts and were able to locate the third suspect two days later.
Police say Kimberly Porter, 28, Julio Roldan, 25 and 23-year-old Raymond Barlow were all arrested in connection to the thefts.
