Postal Worker Jailed For Choking 11-Year-Old Girl

Sgt. Dan Scott walks to the podium in front of Sheriffs Headquarters Bureau. He's with the department's Special Victims Bureau. He's got two stories to tell at a news conference involving media from all over town. Let's start with the one involving a 31 year old man named Elbert Morales. His mugshot is distributed. We're told his case is being laid out before DA's investigators this morning. Scott says Morales is a music teacher at Diamond Ranch High School in Diamond Bar. He's been there a year. He also worked at Diamond Bar High School from 1998 to 2000 and Sunny Hills HS in Fullerton from 2004 to 2009. Scott says "during that time (at Sunny Hills HS) he befriended a 16 year old girl." She would come to his place on weekends. Scott says they'd party and drink "and, that led to sex."

Fast forward to 2013. That woman is now 22. She saw a presentation on sexual molestation. Scott says because of that she decided to come forward to report what she alledges happened with the teacher. You might wonder if there is a statute of limitations. When asked about that by a reporter Scott said "not in this case". Scott says since Morales has taught at several schools there could be other victims and, if there are, he hopes they'll contact LA Sheriffs Dept's Special Victims Bureau.

Just before telling the gathering of reporters and camera crews the Morales story Scott dished out another. It's one that might have you shaking your head. It might be an SMH story, but its a felony and not one that should make anyone LOL. Laughing out loud is actually at the crux of this story. After being directed by an 11 year old and her friend, a postal worker walks into a bathroom at a park. He walks into the women's restroom.

After realizing his mistake, Lt. Scott says the 55 year old walked toward the men's room only to see the two girls laughing at him ... out loud. When he comes out of the right restroom they are still laughing out loud. He's not laughing at all. Scott says he grabs the 11 year old by the neck and starts choking her. The Sgt. says there are witnesses and surveillance video. the mailman drives off. The girl has red marks on her neck, but otherwise is okay. An adult who saw what happened calls the Sheriffs Dept. Investigators find the mailman and arrest him. The DA is also looking at this case. Scott says it's a felony -- cruelty against a child. The penalty for something like that is "up to 3 years in state prison" Scott tells me after the briefing. Both men he says are behind bars.

No LOL on this case or the other one!

(AP) Investigators say a U.S. postal worker choked an 11-year-old girl who laughed at him for accidentally walking into a women's bathroom at a park.

Los Angeles County sheriff's investigators say 55-year-old Daniel Villasensor of Temple City was arrested Monday afternoon and he was booked for investigation of cruelty to a child.

He remains in jail with bail set at $100,000.

The girl told deputies that Villasensor choked her with his hands because she was laughing at him for going into the wrong bathroom at Bristow Park in Commerce.

The Postal Service says Villasensor, a 30-year employee, has been placed on unpaid leave during the investigation.

He was on duty at the time of the incident.
