DELTONA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A daycare bus collided with an SUV in Deltona on Thursday. Several children on that bus received minor injuries. The driver of the SUV had to be flown to a local hospital with a severe leg wound.
The incident happened on Saxon Blvd. and East Normandy, just before 3 p.m.
A spokesman with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said that the driver of the SUV has been determined to be at fault.
"Two witnesses to the crash reported seeing the SUV, driven by 21-year-old Kyerria Jarrells, run a red light just prior to the collision," said Gary Davidson, Public Information Officer for the
Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
Jarrells has been cited for failure to stop at a red light and for driving with a suspended license.
