ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Three men are in custody after authorities said they were spotted in a stolen car, which had been taken during a carjacking earlier in the week.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the men were arrested near the intersection of Minoso St. and Florence Ave. in Orlando on Friday afternoon.
Deputies on Tuesday responded to the 4800 block of West Colonial Drive in reference to an armed robbery. When they arrived, they found a woman who told them that she was walking along the east trail in Barnett Park when she was approached from behind by two black men. The woman said, while holding a pistol to her head, one of the men demanded she hand over her phone and the keys to her car.
The men took her car, which was spotted by deputies near Pine Hills Road and SR 50. After a brief pursuit, the driver crashed the car into a home on Minoso Street.
Two men were apprehended in the car and a third was arrested after a brief foot pursuit. Deputies said they also located a weapon at the scene. There were no injuries during the pursuit and subsequent arrests.
Deputies said the names of the three men are not being released at this time.
