"A rush to injustice, fundamentally wrong, and factually flawed." That's what Joe Paterno's family is calling findings from the Freeh report.
Former FBI director Louis Freeh's report released in July claimed former Penn State Coach Joe Paterno and three top Penn State administrators covered up convicted child sex abuser Jerry Sandusky's crime.
"Our lives are about kids and making them better not hurting them," said Sue Paterno, defending her husband during an interview with Katie Couric.
Sunday Paterno and her family released a scathing critique of the Freeh report, saying it has "glaring deficiencies" because investigators didn't interview key witnesses. Namely former administrators Tim Curley, Gary Schultz, President Graham Spanier and Joe Paterno.
"At the end of the day what you cant make go away are emails in 2001 and they tell a very, very troubling story," explained former federal prosecutor Fred Tecce.
Tecce is talking about emails the Freeh report uncovered dating back to 2001.
The emails claim Spanier, Schultz and Curley planned to tell the state about Sandusky's alleged child sex abuse--but days after talking to then Coach Paterno-- emails show they clammed up.
"He watched from the sidelines while Sandusky paraded little boys like trophies," exclaimed attorney Tom Kline who represents one of Sandusky's alleged victims.
Kline says Paterno's family can try and change the story of what happened, but not the facts.
"The Freeh report uncovered certain things that can't now be put back in the bottle. The Freeh report uncovered documents from 1998 that Paterno knew and knew well that Sandusky was a problem and being investigated."
