ATLANTA (AP) - Several agencies, including the Red Cross and the U.S. Small Business Administration, are offering assistance to people in north Georgia who lost property in a recent tornado.
Two disaster assistance centers opened Monday afternoon following the Jan. 30 tornado that killed a man in Adairsville.
Officials say homeowners, renters, landlords and business owners in Bartow and Gordon counties who were impacted by the storm may apply for several types of assistance. Applicants are asked to bring valid photo identification and proof of residence.
The assistance centers are housed in the Sonoraville Community and Recreation Center in Calhoun, and the North Bartow Community Service Center in Adairsville. The centers will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
