NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police responding to a 911 call about gunshots fired from a rooftop in Brownsville Monday night shot a teen and arrested another man, said police.

Cops say a 16-year-old male was carrying a Ruger revolver on the roof of 2294 Atlantic Ave. The responding officers accessed an adjacent roof where they shot teen in the left arm, right arm and ankle.

The teen was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.

His accomplice, a 22-year-old Hispanic male, was not shot, said police. Charges are pending.

Neither officer was shot.

It is not clear what the teen and the man were doing on the rooftop.

The NY Post reported they were "shooting blanks."
