Philly Teen Sentenced To Life In Prison In Murder Of 14-Year-Old

PHILADELPHIA -
The Philadelphia teenager charged in the 2010 shooting death of a 14-year-old was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole Wednesday.
Radames Sanabria, 17, was convicted in October in the death of 14-year-old Jerome Carlyle, Jr., the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office said.
According to the DA, Sanabria was found guilty for shooting Carlyle four times, killing him.
Investigators say the victim didn't know Sanabria until seconds before his death when the two crossed paths. After an argument, investigators say Sanabria shot the teenager for an unknown reason.
In a statement, the district attorney's office said Judge Linda Carpenter found that under a new statute for sentencing juveniles convicted of first degree murder, which includes a defendant's age and the safety of the community, the life sentence without parole was the appropriate sentence.
