Valentine's Day isn't just for the human species! Animals at Brookfield Zoo enjoyed heart-shaped treats on Cupid's holiday.
The animal programs staff for the Chicago Zoological society is always thinking of ways to physically and mentally stimulate the animals at the zoo. One such way is by providing them with a variety of enrichment and food items they normally do not receive on a regular basis.
The bottlenose dolphins and grey seals devoured ice treats, while the western lowland gorillas gorged on nutritious heart-shaped cookies made of ground primate biscuit, oatmeal, bananas, raisins, and peanut butter.
