West suburban woman charged with fatal stabbing of husband

WHEATON, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
An argument between a west suburban couple on Friday night ended with a 42-year-old woman stabbing her husband to death, police said on Sunday.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Westmont Police Officers responded to a 911 call at a home in the 500 block of West 61st Street in the west suburb, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney's office.
When officers got to the home, they found 49-year-old David Davis bleeding from a knife wound to the right side of his abdomen, a release from the state's attorney's office said.
He was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital, where he passed away from his injuries at approximately 11:36 p.m.
His wife, Lisa Davis, was arrested at their home and has been in police custody since, the release said. It is alleged on Friday at some point before 7:30 p.m., the two got into a verbal altercation, which ended with Lisa Davis stabbing her husband with a kitchen knife, the release said.
She has been charged with first degree murder, according to the state's attorney's office.
Lisa Davis was expected to appear for a bond hearing in court Monday morning at the DuPage County Jail in Wheaton, the release said.
