Operation Wedding: Meet the finalists!

Posted: Updated:

Three lucky military couples are in the running to win a wedding!  FOX 5 has partnered with Ashton Gardens for Good Day Atlanta's Operation Wedding contest.

We received dozens of entries earlier this month, and we've narrowed it down to three finalists.

Tamika Russell and Army Staff Sgt. Ancil Christopher
met in college at the University of West Georgia.  Staff Sgt. Christopher was deployed to Iraq during their junior year.  He later served in Afghanistan and returned to the U.S. just six months ago.

Major Peter Nunn and his fiance, Jamie Erin Crossno
, met last year.  He says they clicked instantly.  Major Nunn is currently serving in the 3rd Army, and has served twice in Iraq, in Korea and in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Xavia Tennant and Nicholas Reid are both 2nd Lieutenants in the U.S. Marine Corps.  They are currently training in Virginia, but hope to have their wedding in their home state of Georgia.

Good Day Atlanta's Tacoma Perry will introduce you to all of these couples this week, and starting Friday, February 22, you'll get your chance to vote here on our website for the couple you think is most deserving of a free dream wedding at Ashton Gardens!

It's graduation season AND it's also #ThrowbackThursday, so what better time to go back to the archives?  Today's victim: the one and only Buck Lanford.
