Baseball equipment donated to Sandy communities

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Children in East Rockaway will be able to play ball despite Hurricane Sandy's devastation.

Thanks to a non-profit group called "Pitch in for Baseball" (PIFB), parents, coaches and kids unloaded the donated equipment that included bats, balls, gloves, uniforms and other items.

The storm submerged the equipment shed in nine feet of water on East Rockaway and washed it out to sea.

Several other communities affected by Superstorm Sandy also received help from PIFB.
