A 74-year-old man who was tied up with duct tape for several hours while two men ransacked his home tells FOX 29 all he could think about the entire time was surviving.
Police are investigating the home invasion on the 7400 block of N. Marvine Street that left the man tied up for several hours.
Etolia Fox described the ordeal to FOX 29.
Fox says two men opened his back door and demanded he get down. He was then tied up with duct tape around his wrists, ankles and mouth while the two made their way through his home.
Fox was alone at the time of the home invasion.
"They was going in and out of the bedrooms looking for stuff," Fox said. "They told me 'just give me the money, that's all we want,' so I told them 'I don't have any money.'"
The two men managed to get away with $140 in cash, a flat screen TV and a computer.
Fox waited, tied up, for six hours until his wife returned home from work.
"Sometimes, you do what they ask and they still hurt ya, so I didn't wanna' get beat up," he said.
The crime now has neighbors fearing for their own safety.
If you have any information in connection to the home invasion, you're asked to call the Philadelphia Police Department.
