(CNS) A fire at a house in Hawthorne today left a man dead and a woman hospitalized, authorities said. The fire in the 3500 block of W. 135th Street was reported around 6:15 a.m. and was extinguished within about a half hour, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The man died at the scene. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives. The woman was transported for hospital treatment in unknown condition. Four dogs also died, fire officials said.
