ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A car slammed into the front of an Orlando restaurant, injuring two people, in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Anh Hong on the corner of Mills Avenue and Colonial Drive sustained damage to the front of the store after a black car was cut off and swerved to avoid a collision, Orlando Police said.
Just before 3 p.m., a black car was traveling southbound on Mills, crossing the Colonial intersection on a green light, when a gold-colored minivan traveling northbound on Mills made an illegal left turn in front of the car, police said.
The car swerved to avoid the collision and crashed into the front of Anh Hong restaurant. The driver was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. A woman inside the restaurant was hit with flying drywall but refused treatment for minor injuries.
Anh Hong has been allowed to stay open by Code Enforcement, according to Orlando Police.
Police say this is an active hit-and-run investigation because the gold minivan left the scene.
