ORANGE CITY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Orange City Police have released the video surveillancein a bizarre shooting in the parking lot of a Walmart that occurred on Wednesday.
In that video you cansee suspected shoplifter Eddie McKee shove a grocery cart into a store employeetrying to stop him, then slamming a woman's head into the door as he fled thestore. Nearly 10 seconds later, accused shooter Jose Martinez chases afterhim.
Outside the store, McKee bolts to his car trying to fleethe scene. He either strikes or nearly strikes Martinez in the leg as the cartries to pull away. Martinez did not open fire until after that vehicle was onits way out of the parking lot. Police said he fired 5 shots total.
At his first appearance before a judge on Thursday, Martinez onlysaid, "Yes sir" as the judge reviewed the case.
The judge found therewas probable cause for the arrest and set bond at $7,000 -- $2,000 for a count of aggravated battery, and $5,000 a count of firing into a vehicle.
