Debra Tate has spent four decades pushing for the rights of victims. Her sister Sharon Tate, pregnant and in her own home, was murdered by members of the Charles Manson family in 1969.
Today, she scored a major victory when Governor Brown denied the parole of former Manson family follower Bruce Davis.
"I know the Fox 11 reports that you've been doing made the difference," says Tate. "The media pressure has helped to keep another one of these sociopaths behind bars."
Davis has spent forty years behind bars for his role in the 1969 murders of Topanga Canyon musician Gary Hinman and stuntman Douglas "Shorty" Shea.
Tate, who is a spokeswomen for both families, says she was surprised and relieved by the Governor's decision to reverse the parole recommendation by a state board.
It was the second time Davis was recommended for parole and both Governor Brown and former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger denied his release.
