NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police say a body was found inside a 55-gallon drum inside an apartment in Harlem Saturday night.

Authorities say a woman called 911 to report the stench in her apartment at 2400 Seventh Avenue near West 140th Street around 9:40 p.m. Officers arrived to find the container and dead body in her grandson's bedroom, according to the New York Post.

The clothed victim was found unconscious and unresponsive and was stuffed inside the drum.

Police say the cause of death is not yet clear. The Post is reporting the grandson is in police custody while getting a psychological exam at St. Luke's Hospital, but he has not been named a suspect or charged.
