A baby girl who started treatment for HIV right when she was born now appears to be cured of the virus.
The doctors and researchers involved in this case are calling it "groundbreaking."
A cocktail of three drugs were used to treat the infant from Mississippi. She is now two and a half years old and thriving. She has been off the medication cocktail for a year now with no signs of the infection.
Scientists say more testing needs to be done to see if the treatment would work for others.
If the child stays healthy, this would mark the only the world's second reported cure.
