Teacher accused of allowing underage drinking at teen's house party
LAKE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
An elementary schoolteacher in Lake County faces several misdemeanor charges for allegedly allowingunderage teenagers to drink alcohol at her home.
Investigators saidAntonia Marino, 45, initially refused to let deputies inside her house onSaturday night. Once they were allowed inside, deputies said they found atleast three minors who had been drinking alcohol. One 15-year-old girl was found passed out in a closet, covered invomit, according to an arrest report.
Marino toldinvestigators that her 16-year-old daughter was permitted to have a small group offriends over, and she came home to discover a large party. According todeputies, a teenager who was at the gathering told them that Marino was presentthe whole evening.
Marino is asecond-grade teacher at Pine Ridge Elementary. A spokesman with the schooldistrict said it they will investigate the incident.
