OCALA, Fla. (WOGX FOX 51) -
Detectives have released details about a horrific crime in Ocala. Police say a pregnant woman was stabbed with a steak knife more than 30 times by her boyfriend's uncle.
"Help me!" the woman screamed at a 911 operator. "I'm fixing to die! Hurry! I'm covered in blood!"
Jill Feingold, who is 22 weeks pregnant, told the operator she was losing consciousness. "I'm in the bedroom! Follow the blood!" she said.
When asked where she was stabbed, Feingold told the operator, "Everywhere! My neck, my chest, near my baby! Blood's coming out of my mouth!"
Police say 59-year-old Samuel "Roy" Cone had gotten into an argument with Feingold. When officers arrived around 4 p.m. Monday, they found Cone outside the home.
"He was walking down the driveway towards the road. He was taken into custody without incident," said Sgt. Angie Scroble with the Ocala Police Department.
Detectives said when they handcuffed Cone, he told them, "I'm sorry for all of this. They took all I had." Then he said, "I know I'm going to the gas chamber."
Sgt. Scroble said Cone, Feingold, and Feingold's husband were asked to stay in the home by an elderly family member who's in the hospital with pneumonia. The argument stemmed over the property. "Something to do with the relative's estate," said Sgt. Scroble.
Feingold and the baby are in critical condition at Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
