Teen considered a 'suspect at large' in Orlando carjacking

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Orange county sheriff's deputies continue to search for a teenage fugitive, who sparked a lengthy swat standoff earlier Tuesday.

It happened in a neighborhood off of Conroy Road, near the Mall at Millenia.

Deputies thought a 15-year old carjacking suspect was holed-up inside a home, but after 6 hours, a SWAT team went inside the residence and found no one.

A spokesman with the Sheriff's Office said the teen is a suspect in carjacking last Saturday. "He is a suspect in multiple felony carjackings here in Central Florida," said Jeff Williamson with the Orange County Sheriff's Office.  "There was a warrant for his arrest for one."

Deputies said there were not certain if he was ever really inside the home during the standoff.

"I do not know if he ran out during the standoff, before they got there, or whatever the case may be," said Williamson.  "All I know is that when we got here, we believed him to have been in the house."

Williamson said the teen is considered a "suspect at large."
