Several explosions at a suburban Chicago paint factory have left three people injured and caused the evacuation of several nearby businesses.
The explosions Wednesday at Fox Valley Systems Inc. in Cary blew out a brick wall of the building where approximately two dozen people were working.
Cary Police Chief Steven Casstevens says three people were taken from the building to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. A hospital spokesman says all were transferred to other hospitals. Casstevens said he didn't know the extent of the victims' injuries.
Authorities say the explosions occurred around 1 p.m. and took firefighters from several departments about three hours to extinguish the resulting flames.
Casstevens said the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration will launch an investigation Thursday to determine the cause of the explosions.
