'Community acupuncture' offers affordable treatments to alternative medicine
ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
From pain management, to easing anxieties and treating allergies, many patients attest to the benefits of acupuncture as a complementary alternative to traditional medicine.
But costs for the treatment can add up. Even for those whose insurance covers acupuncture, the number of visits recommended by a doctor or acupuncturist may run out, leaving patients paying out of pocket, or quitting treatments early.
That's where the concept of "community acupuncture" comes in, making visits more affordable -- around the same amount as a co-pay.
Rather than small, private treatment rooms, like the ones you will find in a private place or doctors office, you have one large treatment room where the beds are separated by screens. Typically, one or two acupuncturists are constantly rotating between the tables.
Before receiving any holistic treatment, do research and discuss it with a doctor.
