MACON, Ga. (AP) - Antoinette Brown scored 22 points to lead St. Francis to a 62-56 overtime win over Southwest Atlanta Christian in the GHSA Class A girls private school state championship game Saturday at the Macon Coliseum.
St. Francis (25-8) overcame a 4-point deficit in the final 15 seconds of regulation to force overtime. The Knights made 8 of 10 free throws in overtime, while the Warriors managed just four overtime points.
Candice Williams and Nigia Greene each scored 14 points for the Knights, who won their first state championship.
Alexis Carter scored 25 to lead the Warriors (28-4), and Marquita Daniels added 16 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter.
The Warriors held a 4-point lead with 15 seconds left when Williams drew a foul at midcourt. She made a pair of free throws, and Jade Davis had a steal and a layup with seven seconds left to force overtime.
