ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

A registered sex offender is arrested after a committing a series of crimes in Ormond Beach. Police said the wild series of events began at the Royal Floridian Resort on South Atlantic Avenue around 6 p.m. Friday evening.

Investigators said Jason Dorova attacked a 60 year old woman at the door of her room at the resort. Officers said Dorava pushed the victim into her room and demanded $200.

Police said he then threatened to push the woman over the third floor balcony. The victim fell on the floor, and police said Dorava ran away with the woman's money, identification card, credit cards, and the keys to the victim's motorcycle.

Investigators said minutes later, they received a call for help at a nearby condominium off Vining Court. Police said that's where Dorava pushed his way into the unit through a screen door. Wanda Hajdin said she was in her kitchen when she saw him.

"I went into the kitchen to make a sandwich, and then all of a sudden I hear the commotion," said Hajdin. "I look through the living room; He's running across my living room and comes into the kitchen."

Hajdin said Dorava asked for the keys to her car. She told him she didn't have one.

"Then he opened up the dishwasher door, looked for something, and opened up the drawer, got shears, cut the monitor off his leg, got blood on the wall," said Hajdin. "He left the monitor there, and left the scissors there, and ran back out the door. I called 911."

Police said Dorava then ran to a third home on Seton Trail where he allegedly walked in through an open front door. Investigators said a man inside the home forced out Dorava.

Police said he then ran into an abandoned building on Bosarvey Drive. Police said they spotted him, and Dorava had to be shocked with a taser after officers struggled with him.

Police said Dorava swallowed several grams of cocaine as he tried to escape from police. Police said he had cocaine in his possession when he was arrested.

Dorava was first taken to the hospital, and is currently being held at the Volusia County Jail without bond.

Police said Dorava has been charged with armed robbery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, two counts of burglary of an occupied dwelling, one count of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine, violation of parole (sex offender).
