NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police say two officers shot and killed a teenager after he pointed a gun at them in Brooklyn on Saturday night.

Officers arrived to 473 East 52nd Street in Flatbush around 11:30 p.m. and one teen separated himself from a group.

According to police, 16-year-old Kimani Gray adjusted his waistband in a suspicious way as officers got out of their unmarked car. Authorities say Gray then turned on the officers and pointed a .38 caliber gun at them.

The officers fired shots at Gray.  He was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police recovered a loaded .38 caliber at the scene. The officers were taken to Methodist Hospital for examinations.

This was the second of two police-involved shootings Saturday. NYPD officers also shot a man on Staten Island.

Authorities say, in that incident, plainclothes officers approached a car on North Gannon Avenue after they received a tip that a driver was in possession of a gun.

Police say that 33-year-old Clinton James pinned an officer with his car when he attempted to flee the scene. James was seen reaching for a weapon and an officer shot him in the torso, according to police.

James was taken by EMS to Richmond University Medical Center.   Police found a loaded .44 caliber gun from his vehicle.

Two detectives and one officer were also taken to Richmond University Medical Center for trauma for non-life threatening injuries.
